ChargeGuardian ChargeGuardian

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

1. Information We Collect

The ChargeGuardian extension does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal or financial data. No analytics. No cookies. No tracking of any kind. Every interception, every scan — all processing happens locally in your browser.

Note on our website: ChargeGuardian.io offers an optional email waitlist. If you sign up, your email is stored solely to notify you of product updates and is never shared or sold. The waitlist is separate from the extension — the extension itself collects zero data.

The only data stored is saved locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API — this includes your whitelist preferences and transaction history (for the dispute manager). This data never leaves your browser.

2. How It Works

When you visit a checkout page, ChargeGuardian detects payment forms and shows a confirmation overlay. It scans the page for known scam patterns and domain names. All of this analysis is done entirely on your device — no network requests are made to any server.

3. Third-Party Services

ChargeGuardian does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The extension operates entirely independently within your browser.

4. Data Retention

Your preferences and transaction history are stored locally in your browser's storage. You can clear this data at any time through Chrome's extension management settings. We have no access to this data and cannot retrieve it.

5. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the version of the extension and notify users through the Chrome Web Store. We will never add data collection without clear notice and consent.
